 | Monday, July 30th, 2007: Street 5-5 Against Bluefish
5 times is a charm -- at least in the world of baseball. When a player gets 5 or more hits in a game, he is honored in the record book and the latest honoree is Owen Street of the South Dakota Tapirs.
He tore up the Montana Bluefish to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the South Dakota 10-0 win today at Ballpark at Pierre.
"Street was a tough out today," the Montana manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."
O. Street walked in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
So far this season Street is hitting .338 with 9 home runs, 34 RBIs and 63 runs scored. He has 134 hits in 396 at-bats and a .376 OBP. |
 | Monday, July 30th, 2007: Lasers Lose Brad Sims
Brad Sims and the Edmonton Lasers got a bad break in today's game against the Blue Hens as the team confirmed he will miss 1-2 weeks with a tender shoulder. The Lasers starting pitcher suffered the injury throwing a pitch. The team doctor is confident he'll make a full recovery.
This year Sims has posted a 8-5 mark in 24 starts and has a 2.43 ERA. |
